English and German play an equal role in communication – in the classroom and in all other areas of school life. Approximately half of instruction and supervision is conducted in English and half in German using the immersion method.
At pre- and primary-school level, children generally have one native German- and one native English-speaking teacher, who collaborate closely. As a result, most subjects are taught in both languages.
At secondary level, each subject is usually taught in one language.
