1994 schloss ich mein Studium ab (Geschichte und Deutsch), 1998 erwarb ich das Höhere Lehramt.
Von 1994 bis 1998 unterrichtete ich am Freien Gymnasium und danach ging’s nach Brasilien in die Megastadt São Paulo, wo wir - meine Frau und ich – an der Escola Suiço Brasileira arbeiteten. Der Höhepunkt unseres Brasilienaufenthalts war die Geburt unseres ersten Sohnes Oliver im 2001 (seine Brüder Yannick und Tim kamen 2004 und 2009 auf die Welt).
Ab 2002 unterrichtete ich an der Minerva und führte das International Baccalaureate ein. Seit 2005 bin ich Schulleiter der SIS Zürich.
Meine Freizeit verbringe ich gerne mit meiner Familie beim Baden, Biken, Surfen, Carven, Tennispielen und Skaten im In- und Ausland.

“Learning by doing” is my motto…and I try to make learning a fun and enjoyable experience for all my students. I have been teaching since 1994 and have had the pleasure of working with children from 2 to 12 years old as well as adults. I have a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education (K-9) and a Master’s Degree in Education Management. After moving to Switzerland with my husband in 1997, I worked with children of all ages in various language schools, and discovered a love for working with preschool and kindergarten children. In 2002, I founded Hands-On Kids English Center, where I taught preschool and kindergarten to fulfill the needs of my own children (born in 1999, 2001, and 2005). Now that my youngest child has started primary school at SIS, I have decided to pass on “my” school to the current Head Teacher and dedicate my time to my first love…teaching. It is with delight that I will continue to teach Kindergarten at SIS Zurich as well as oversee the lower primary grades (1-3), and of course have the opportunity to be close to my own children as they continue their bilingual education at SIS Zurich.

Organisms are my business. In class I teach the students what’s behind the curtain of life, the science of Biology. During and after my diploma I worked in labs of two phytochemical companies. In the latter I was in charge of the apprentices. With the opportunity to start teaching Biology at SIS, I was able to make the adolescent human organism my prime work object. In order to have the necessary knowledge I completed the Diplom für das höhere Lehramt, while teaching at SIS. Since August 2007 I am Assistant to the Principal for the Bilingual College. In this position I have the chance to get in contact with the students on a more personal level, guiding them through the time they spend at our school. In my free time I like being outdoors, in the water, in the mountains.
Harald Gräf
(Stufenleiter Gymnasium)
Ich unterrichte seit 2007 an der SIS Wirtschaft und Recht. Studiert habe ich Wirtschaftswissenschaften an der Universität Zürich. Anschliessend absolvierte ich die Ausbildung zum Europäischen Fachhochschuldozenten. Neben meiner Lehrerfunktion bin ich zusätzlich Stufenleiter. Dabei betreue ich in erster Linie die Studierenden und bin Ansprechsperson für deren Eltern.
Der Beruf als Lehrer ist für mich eine Leidenschaft, da ich gerne Wissen vermittle und mich mit jungen Menschen austausche. Auch die administrative Arbeit schätze ich, weil ich dadurch die Lehrgänge mit gestalten kann.
Ich bin Vater einer zweijährigen Tochter. Das Familienleben ist für mich ein wichtiger Ausgleich zum Berufsleben. Ich bin gerne draussen in der Natur, spaziere oder fahre Rad.
