Just before our Autumn break Primary 3 and 4 traveled to Präz for class camp. This year they were learning aboutprimitive cultures. They spent the week living in a tent and learning how to make fires, shoot bows and arrows, and all around live like our ancient ancestors. It was an exciting trip for all.

SIS Pfäffikon-Schwyz travelled to Hoch-Ybrig in the heart of Switzerland for our annual Autumn hike. While walking along the top ridge between Spirstock and Stirnen students couldn’t help but enjoy the scenery. The grassy fields were full of butterflies, frogs, grasshoppers and cows fattening themselves up before the Alpabzug.
Students from Kindergarten to Secondary at SIS Pfäffikon-Schwyz spent a week learning about Graphic Novels and Comic Books. Students were allowed to choose the type of project they would be involved in. Projects ranged from creating superheroe origin stories to dramatic representations of their favorite Graphic Novel.
The second grade studied the differences between solids, liquids and gases last week. Through hands on experimentation the students could make connections between different forms and how they transform when the molecules are sped up or slowed down.
Ever since a group of boys wore pink shirts to school to stand up for a boy who was bullied, schools around the world have embraced the day to stand together against bullying. On April 10 SIS Pfäffikon-Schwyz came together wearing pink shirts to show we also do not tolerate bullying.
Wir laden Sie und Ihre Kinder herzlich ein, am 4. April 2019 an der SIS Pfäffikon-Schwyz internationale Schulluft zu schnuppern!
”A mouse took a stroll through the deep dark wood…” Thus begins the story of The Gruffalo by Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler. The kindergarten students were inspired by this story and after reading the book had a sports lesson in the forest to practice their throwing skills by trying to hit trees with pinecones as well as hunting for the Gruffalo.
Primary 3 and 4 showcased the Virginia Reel, and the Good Time line dance during a school assembly. Students who normally avoid partner dancing felt like they had triumphed after the assembly: they survived a public dance performance and they danced with the opposite gender. After the performance, the whole school was invited to join in.
