Philippa Lieber, Principal
Philippa Lieber joined SIS Swiss International School in 2018 as a kindergarten and primary teacher. She became principal of SIS Winterthur in 2021.
Prior to joining SIS Ms. Lieber held academic leadership and teaching roles at primary schools in Italy and the United States. She has also taught philosophy for the Swiss bilingual Matura in Kanton Schwyz. She is passionate about education and is delighted to observe the personal and academic growth of children. She believes in setting high expectations and working creatively to support the achievement of all students.
Ms. Lieber is from the United States, but also spent part of her childhood in Switzerland. She enjoys horse-back-riding, the seaside, and reading. She lives on Lake Zurich with her husband, daughter and basset hound.
Nicola Johnson, Vice Principal
Nicola Johnson joined SIS Winterthur as a primary teacher in 2014. She was promoted to Vice-Principal in 2015.
Ms. Johnson was born and raised in New Zealand where she completed her bachelor of education at Massey University. She taught for five years before moving to Australia where she was a junior school teacher for eight years just outside of Sydney.
In addition to her leadership abilities Ms. Johnson also possesses excellent ICT skills and is the schools’ ICT coordinator. Nicola’s teaching programmes cater to the diverse learning styles of her students. She values the social and cultural background of all students and promotes tolerance, mutual respect and understanding. She regularly reviews both her teaching and the students’ learning, taking the necessary action where needed.
Nicola Johnson is an accomplished basketball player and has organised an after school mixed media club at SIS Winterthur.
Ramona Rauscher, Stufenleitung Primarschule
Seit August 2003 arbeitet Ramona Rauscher als Primarlehrerin an der SIS Winterthur. Die Stufenleitung für den deutschsprachigen Unterricht übernahm sie im Schuljahr 2015/16.
Ramona Rauscher studierte an der Pädagogischen Hochschule Weingarten, an der sie 2002 das Lehramt für Grund- und Hauptschulen mit dem 1. Staatsexamen abschloss. Nach dem Referendariat legte sie 2003 das 2. Staatsexamen ab und wanderte in die Schweiz aus.
In ihrer Tätigkeit als Primarlehrerin ist es ihr besonders wichtig, Schüler und Schülerinnen auf ihr zukünftiges Leben vorzubereiten und sie zu eigenverantwortlichem Lernen zu befähigen. Dabei nimmt sie jedes Kind in seiner Einzigartigkeit an und fördert kritisches Denken, Problemlösen sowie kooperatives Lernen.
Ihre Freizeit verbringt sie gerne mit ihrer Familie und am liebsten draussen in der Natur. Auf dem Vita Parcour und im Yoga tankt sie neue Energie.
