Amy Von Boyen was born and raised in the small Midwestern town in Wisconsin, USA and has been living in Zürich, Switzerland since 2007.
Ms Von Boyen completed a bachelor of science in education with an emphasis on the Spanish language and additionally received her certificate for teaching English as a foreign language. Before her adventures in Switzerland began, she was a primary school teacher in the USA and also taught English to adults in Puebla, Mexico for two years. In addition to her teaching background, she has experience as a school recruitment coordinator, which included school promotion and PR work.
In August 2007, Ms Von Boyen first joined the SIS Zürich-Wollishofen team as a classroom teacher. A new chapter of her professional life opened up in August 2011 by taking on the position of Head of Kindergarten and Early Primary at SIS Zürich-Wollishofen. After welcoming her son into the world in November 2014 and an extended maternity leave, she returned to SIS Zürich-Wollishofen in August 2015 as a music and EFL teacher.
In her free time, Ms Von Boyen takes advantage of the Swiss fresh air by biking, playing tennis, hiking, and going to parks with her children. Additionally, she enjoys playing piano, listening to music, and learning languages (German and Spanish).
Ms Von Boyen enjoys being part of the SIS team and working with the teachers and parents in supporting the children’s bilingual education.
