Project Week: Health and Fitness

For this year’s project week held during May here at SIS Zürich-Wollishofen, we tried out something a little different. With a focus on health and fitness, the plan was to hold a series of ‘workshops’ based around this theme during the middle part of the week.

Either side of the workshops the students were set a challenge of designing and making a card sandwich box (similar to one you might buy for lunch in a supermarket). As everyone used an identical template for this, it was the final colouring and attention to such details as ingredients, bar codes and food nutrition facts, that made each and every sandwich box unique.

Our health and fitness themed workshops were focused on being fit in both the body and the mind. From dance, football and safety in the skate park, to making healthy snacks and smoothies and creating wellness products, students were engaged a variety of fun activities designed to help us all learn how to be our best selves!

On Thursday afternoon, after workshops ended, each child had the opportunity to use some of their new learning about nutrition to make a ‘healthy’ sandwich; these were then stored in the refrigerator overnight.
