We recently had the joy of inviting parents and children of kindergarten and grades 1 and 2 to our Räbeliechtli parade. After everyone had joined us for a drink and hotdog and the sun had set for the day, the children lined up in preparation for our parade. After bringing the children’s wonderfully decorated Räbeliechtli lanterns to life with candles, we set off for a walk to the Landiwiese with parents.
Despite the chilly weather, it was delightful to see and feel the excitable atmosphere as grade 2 led the parade for a short walk. The children ended the parade by forming a big circle for our celebration songs. The warm glow of the lanterns alongside the great singing from the children made for a wonderful experience. Tired, but happy children faces were seen on the way back when children left the parade with their parents, grandparents and other members of the family.
A big thank you to everyone who helped with the carving and joined the Räbeliechtli parade.
