This year our school’s Sustainability Team was formed. The team consists of students from years 4 to 6, with a unified goal: to make our school a more sustainable place through both short and long-term projects.
In June, two representatives from the team had the opportunity to attend a conference for all the SIS Switzerland schools, where they presented our school’s research, progress, and future goals. At the event there was also a guest speaker, Arlian Eckar, whose mission it has been since he was young to reduce plastic in our oceans. He was able to give our team advice and motivation as they move forward with next year’s project: reducing and managing waste at school.
The team looks forward to the new project and hopes to see the whole school community involved to make our school more sustainable.
