Dear visitors

A very warm welcome to SIS Männedorf-Zürich, a private bilingual day school with approximately 120 students, from kindergarten to Year 6. The school community is characterised by a close-knit, vibrant and nurturing multicultural environment and represents more than twenty nationalities. The bilingual educational concept of SIS Swiss International School has been successfully implemented here since 2009. Lisa Cummins

Principal

Lisa Cummins has worked as principal for SIS Swiss International School since 2010. Prior to that, she worked for five years for the Swiss School in Mexico, where she developed a new school location.

Lisa Cummins was born in England. Afterwards, she grew up in Stäfa, beside Lake Zürich, with her English-speaking father and her German-speaking mother. After working as a primary teacher and principal for many years, she additionally completed a master's degree in business administration.

In her job as principal, she is fascinated to see how quickly the children feel comfortable in the bilingual world. She enjoys seeing the children's progress every day. She herself has two young children who are also growing up in a bilingual environment.

She likes to spend her free time with her family in the mountains or at the lake.

Miranda Dominguez Stead

Head of Kindergarten and Primary

Miranda Dominguez Stead has been teaching primary classes at SIS since 2014. At the beginning of 2018, she was appointed Head of Kindergarten and Primary. Previously, she was teaching in international and bilingual schools in Switzerland, London, Mexico and Australia.

Miranda Dominguez Stead was born in Australia. After completing her schooling, she deferred university and travelled to the US as an au pair. She received her bachelor's degree of education in primary and adult education from the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology, and later her master's degree of education at Deakin University. During this time she taught English to newly arrived migrants and was part of the curriculum-design team for the Victorian Police Academy.

She is a dedicated teacher who allows children the freedom and responsibility to take control of their learning, and creates an environment where each child may excel within their preferred learning intelligence.

SIS Swiss International School is a private educational institution that is financed solely from school fees and does not receive subsidies from the Swiss national or cantonal governments. We offer high-quality education as a service – and we are committed to offering this service in a transparent way.

Teaching and Supervision Hours

At our day school, students are supervised between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 6 p.m.

 

The exact lesson and supervision times vary between the different year levels.

The school adheres to the official school holiday calendar of the canton of Zürich.
