A Globally Recognised University Entrance Qualification

The International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) is the ideal preparation for university studies in English-speaking countries.

About the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP)

All subjects (except German) are taught exclusively in English with corresponding English material. The two-year programme provides excellent preparation for the IB exams which are conducted only in English.

CAS, TOK and Extended Essay

The programme is characterised by three distinctive features: Creativity, Activity, Service (CAS) gives students the opportunity to actively engage in arts, sports and social activities, while Theory of Knowledge (TOK) teaches students to develop personal and critical thinking skills and to question one's own actions and knowledge. In the Extended Essay, the students do an independent piece of research.

Double diploma: Matura and International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma

During the final two years of SIS bilingual college, students have the opportunity to graduate with both the IB Diploma and the nationally recognised bilingual Matura (Hausmaturität). With this double diploma, they are qualified for future studies at both Swiss and international universities.

Transferring from other programmes

The International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) is also open to students with a good knowledge of English who have completed the first level of secondary school and, ideally, one or two years of college at a different school.

Student Life

Spaces that Invite Learning and Activities that Endorse Our Culture of Learning

We are convinced that the place where students learn has a decisive influence on how they learn. We therefore place great importance on an open school space that provides a welcoming atmosphere to students, staff, parents and guests alike, thus creating a pleasant overall environment. We cultivate multiple signature school events and regularly participate in activities that involve all SIS schools around the globe.
